SEMI PENDANT Ø30

Semi Pendant is a unique lamp based on two quarter circles joined back to back. Its distinctive arched enameled metal shade creates a diffused, conical light, ideal for a dining table or kitchen worktop.

With its lightness of form, unique and timeless design, and range of colors and sizes, the Semi Pendant is extremely versatile and fits perfectly into both private and public spaces.

The Semi Pendant lamp was designed in 1968 as the result of a creative collaboration between Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup.

In reaction to the soft, organic shapes of the luminaires of the time, Bonderup and Thorup wanted to create a lamp that incorporated sharp, clean lines and a geometric shape. Their design was submitted to a competition run by the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, and won first prize.

In the 1980s, the lamp achieved great success and became the best-selling Danish design of the time, gaining worldwide recognition and iconic status.
