CARL HANSEN & SØN

CH24 Whisbone Limited edition

CH24 Whisbone Limited edition

Hans J. Wegner's iconic CH24 Wishbone Chair occupies a unique place in the history of modern design.

Its unmistakable silhouette stems from a key decision: to join the backrest and armrests in a single piece. To provide stability to the steam-bent upper crossbar and ensure comfortable support, Wegner developed the characteristic Y-shaped backrest that gives the chair its name.

Each Wishbone Chair requires more than 100 manufacturing steps, most of which are done by hand. Only the woven seat is handcrafted, requiring about an hour of specialised work using approximately 120 metres of paper cord, known for its strength and durability. The result is a solid, comfortable and elegant chair, designed to accompany daily use for years to come.

This special edition is made from stained eucalyptus wood and finished with black cord, creating a sophisticated and contemporary contrast. It is an exclusive version, available in limited quantities.
