Børge Mogensen's BM0488L from 1958 is re-released by Carl Hansen & Son as part of a growing collection of the renowned Danish architect and designer's work.
Versatile, timeless and carefully crafted, BM0488 was originally created to complement the BM0865 sofa bed. This multifunctional piece is part of Mogensen's ‘construction furniture’ concept: durable furniture that can be expanded and adapted over time in response to changing needs and situations.
Whether used as a bench in a hallway or at the end of a bed, or as a coffee or side table, this freestanding piece radiates well-being wherever it is placed.
BM0488L is made from solid oak, where the dense, flawless inner side of the trunks, known as heartwood, is skilfully shaped with traditional joinery joints and rounded edges that are repeated on the legs and crossbeams. Topped with a double rattan surface
