The Crate Dining Bench by HAY is an outdoor-suitable dining bench with a lightweight construction and well-balanced proportions, designed to add seating and comfort without overwhelming the space.

Its classic design features a gently sloping backrest and seat, as well as supportive armrests, making it particularly comfortable for long meals on terraces, in gardens and on patios.

Made from solid pine and finished with water-based lacquer, it is available in a range of colours and can be complemented with optional seat cushions in selected fabrics for added comfort.

The Crate collection was originally designed in 1934 by the Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld to make use of surplus wooden shipping crates. Today it is being relaunched as part of a Rietveld Originals x HAY collaboration, respecting the original design and maintaining its transparent construction and rational approach, whilst optimising the assembly process and preserving its architectural simplicity.
