The Maija pendant lamp by Santa & Cole, designed in 1955 by the renowned Finnish designer Ilmari Tapiovaara, brings the atmospheric lighting of the Baltic cities to a pendant lamp of timeless lightness.
Tapiovaara conceived its structure as a tower of overlapping matt white metal discs through which light filters as if emerging from a shimmering honeycomb. Available in two sizes (with discs measuring 15 cm or 30 cm in diameter), it features an internal white glass diffuser that helps to soften the beam of light, creating indirect, glare-free lighting.
Part of Santa & Cole’s Design Classics collection, it is a piece that works perfectly both as a standalone fixture and in repeated arrangements on tables, bars or counters.
