NIKE: BETTER IS TEMPORARY

NIKE: BETTER IS TEMPORARY

Phaidon commemorates the popular brand's influence with Nike: Better is Temporary, a landmark publication that traces Nike's transformation from upstart rebel to global phenomenon.

Beginning with ‘Breaking2,’ an introduction detailing Nike's 2017 attempt to facilitate a sub-two-hour marathon, the book lays out Nike's focus on performance, brand expression, collaboration, inclusive design, and sustainability in five thematic chapters.

The book's extraordinary design also nods to its content. The striking cover features overlapping screen-printed layers of Nike's proprietary volt yellow and Hyperpunch pink over an image of world marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge printed in a halftone dot pattern. The spine of the book, visible through the clear dust jacket, features a series of coloured tabs extending from its inner pages and referenced in the book's bonus chapter, ‘Crafting Color’.

Phaidon
