HAY’s Type Chair is based on the idea of an archetypal chair – recognisable and familiar – yet with a very distinct character of its own.

Its distinctive backrest gives it a uniform, sculptural appearance, striking a balance between simplicity and presence. Made from at least 60% recycled aluminium and coated with a layer of silicone, it combines industrial processes with a meticulous finish, creating a smooth, seamless and uniform surface. Lightweight and stackable, it is a chair that is easy to integrate into a wide range of settings, both indoors and outdoors, in private or public spaces.

Designed by the Danish designer Jonas Trampedach, the Type Chair translates functionality and simplicity into a contemporary, durable and highly versatile piece.
