Designed in 1962 by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos, the Taccia PMMA version reinterprets one of the most iconic works of Italian industrial design, offering a contemporary and lightweight alternative.

This variant replaces the traditional glass diffuser with a swivelling shade made of high-strength, transparent polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), whilst retaining the sculptural presence and characteristic indirect light of the original design.

Its famous fluted base in extruded aluminium — inspired by the silhouette of a radiator — supports the transparent cup on which the aluminium reflector rests, finished in glossy white on the outside and matt white on the inside to reflect the light softly and without glare. The body is available in sophisticated finishes such as matt black or natural anodised, set upon a refined nickel-plated metal base.

Equipped with integrated, dimmable, high-efficiency LED technology (2700K) and a practical dimmer switch on the cable that allows the light intensity to be adjusted from 10% to 100%, this PMMA version offers the same timeless aesthetic with greater lightness and manoeuvrability.
