In 2016, sportswear manufacturer Nike and fashion designer Virgil Abloh joined forces to create a sneaker collection that paid tribute to 10 of the Oregon-based company's most iconic models.

With their project The Ten, which reinvents, among others, icons such as the Air Jordan 1, Air Max 90, Air Force 1 and Air Presto, they revitalized sneaker culture.

Virgil Abloh's new designs showcase the creativity of engineering and are bursting with cultural prestige.

Abloh recovers the essence of original designs with the use of fonts, ironic labels, collage and sculpture techniques, and plays with language and sculptural elements to construct new meanings.

The book documents the cooperative approach to Abloh's work and reaffirms the power of print.

To design it, Nike and Abloh partnered with acclaimed London-based studio Zak Group. Together they came up with a two-part compendium, a catalog and a conceptual toolbox.

The first part of the book shows the visual culture of sneakers, while the second offers a glossary that introduces the key people, places, objects, ideas, materials and scenes that made the project possible.

Nos encanta por la imagen, las temáticas y las ediciones tan atractivas que realizan, que además tienen un precio asequible y son libros para toda la vida, que de vez en cuando apetece volver a echarles un ojo, e inspirarnos con sus contenidos.
