Umami, designed by Alessandra Baldereschi for Ichendorf Milano, is a striking collection of crystal glasses inspired by the gastronomic world of sushi and Japanese culinary culture.
Each piece combines a glass with a sleek silhouette and clear glass with a detailed miniature sculpture in coloured glass suspended inside, transforming the act of drinking into a visual experience full of irony, artistry and delicacy.
Handcrafted from borosilicate glass, blown and shaped using a blowpipe, these glasses stand out for their light, airy aesthetic and thermal resistance.
The series brings together six iconic gastronomic pieces within this single collection: tuna nigiri, prawn nigiri, octopus nigiri, Japanese omelette nigiri, hosomaki and kimbap. The entire collection is dishwasher-safe; a delicate cycle at a maximum temperature of 40 °C is recommended to preserve the shine and colour accuracy of each piece.
