Burra is a lounge chair with a sculptural presence and a soft aesthetic, designed as an exploration of comfort and rounded forms.

Its spacious, enveloping seat is paired with a curved backrest that flows naturally into the armrests, creating an organic silhouette where every element contributes to a sense of ‘softness’ and embrace. With its generous proportions and bold character, Burra serves as a centrepiece, bringing functionality and an artistic touch to any interior.

Burra features a swivel base with a return mechanism, designed to provide mobility and return to its original position comfortably and naturally. Inside, a steel reinforcement frame provides stability and strength, whilst the combination of elastic straps, firm moulded foam and soft moulded foam ensures a comfortable and cosy seat. The base is made from FSC™-certified wood (FSC-C163461) and wood from other controlled sources.

The name Burra, short for burrata—the round Italian cheese famous for its softness—reinforces the central idea of the design.

This version is upholstered in Kvadrat’s Hallingdal 65, an iconic, highly durable fabric considered a benchmark in wool upholstery. Originally designed in 1965 by Nanna Ditzel, Hallingdal 65 combines wool and viscose; the wool provides durability and flexibility, whilst the viscose adds lustre and depth to the colour. Both materials are dyed before spinning, which enhances the fabric’s rich texture.
