Its design is defined by a tubular metal frame upon which the curved surfaces of the seat and backrest—crafted from plywood slats—rest, revealing the design’s ‘naked’ form.

The generous armrests in solid ash provide a warm, organic counterpoint, balancing the structural robustness with a more welcoming, homely feel. To enhance comfort, Palma offers an optional cushion that fits discreetly between the slats, without obscuring the piece’s open, light character.

The name Palma is Marc Morro’s tribute to his hometown, Palma de Mallorca, an intimate gesture to the roots and humility of an object designed to travel far without losing its origins. Sancal has revived this design from the designer’s personal archive and evolved it towards a comfort designed to be lived in, maintaining the raw spirit of the original piece but softening it with a more approachable aesthetic. Both the wood and the metal can be customised in any colour from the Sancal palette, a chromatic freedom that amplifies its expressiveness and allows for understated or fresher, more contemporary interpretations.
