Designed by the firm &Tradition, the Gio lamp makes its presence felt through spun metal shades and a metal shaft that rise from a cylindrical base of Emperador marble, a high-density material that enhances the piece’s materiality whilst acting as a solid and stable physical anchor on the floor.

The technical configuration of its shades, which are oriented upwards, projects an indirect beam of light towards the ceiling (up-light). The lighting system is dimmable (with a dimmer integrated into the cable), allowing the light output to be precisely adjusted to create softer, more comfortable ambiences.

As for the manufacturing process, the shades are mechanically embossed before receiving their paint or electroplated finish; the shaft, meanwhile, is given a high-strength plating, and the marble base block is cut and polished with the precision of fine cabinetmaking. The unit is completed with a 200 cm long power cable with a black fabric sheath.
