The 62 series was designed by Greta M. Grossman in 1952, the different pieces in the collection were named 62 because they were considered to be 10 years ahead of their time.
The 62 design reflects Grossman's style, both in its shape and the unusual mix of materials.
The slender metal legs with ball-shaped feet, a signature feature of the designer, contrast with the sharp rectangular shape in luxurious American walnut, giving the furniture a light appearance, almost seeming to defy gravity. To increase its elegance, the chest of drawers features a deep, glossy black finish on the top and small solid wood spheres.
