Designed in 1976 by Carles Riart, La Colilla holds the historic distinction of being the first product released by Santa & Cole in 1985.
Conceived as a soft and poetic table lamp, this piece evokes the faint glow of stars, fireflies or embers as the sun sets, making it perfect for accompanying conversation, music or a night’s rest.
Its translucent methacrylate tube houses a series of small neon bulbs that emit a warm, subdued glow. Given its virtually negligible energy consumption and extraordinary lifespan, the lamp is supplied without a switch, encouraging it to be left on permanently as a gentle night-light in hallways, bedrooms, stairwells or to watch over children’s dreams.
Suspended by a fine, unbreakable wire, it creates the fascinating visual illusion of floating gracefully in space, allowing the maximum drop distance from the fixing point to be adjusted according to the version selected (up to 120 cm on the 2-metre model or up to 47.2 cm on the 1-metre model).
Size options:
- La Colilla 1 m: 100 cm long tube, 3 W power, weighing 0.5 kg, and a suspension cable with a maximum drop from the mounting point of 47.2 cm.
- La Colilla 2 m: Classic tube, 200 cm long, 6 W, weighing 1 kg, with a suspension cable and a maximum drop from the hook of 120 cm.
