Pacha lounge chair

The renowned French designer Pierre Paulin originally designed the iconic Pacha Lounge Chair in 1975. Paulin conceived this armchair in keeping with the emerging style of his time, replacing the austerity of post-war design with a new, dynamic and expressive approach.

He succeeded in bringing a genuine elegance to the rounded forms of the Pacha Lounge Chair by finding the perfect proportions, raising it slightly above its base and creating distinctive inward-sloping seam lines in the foam and upholstery.

Through pieces such as the Pacha Lounge Chair, Pierre Paulin pioneered the concept of low-level living, a modern way of living and sitting close to the floor that dispensed entirely with traditional legs.

With comfort as the constant starting point in all his creations, the curved, whimsical or organic forms of the Pacha Lounge Chair are designed to envelop the body, providing an experience of maximum comfort, warmth and well-being.

Each version offers a choice between a base finished in black or pearl gold, as well as the option of a fixed base or one with a swivel mechanism.

Upholstery and composition options:

  • Artemidor (Dedar): Haute couture upholstery combining bouclé and chenille yarns to create a richly textured, soft and three-dimensional surface with a striking tactile presence, composed of 48 per cent cotton, 30 per cent viscose, 15 per cent acrylic, 5 per cent polyester and 2 per cent linen.
  • Karakorum (Dedar): A technical fabric with a bouclé-like appearance that evokes astrakhan fur, with an extremely soft, plush feel and rich in nuance, composed of 42 per cent wool, 33 per cent viscose, 24 per cent cotton and 1 per cent polyamide.
  • Harp (GUBI): High-end upholstery fabric with a refined texture and a highly durable bouclé-style tactile structure, comprising 70 per cent cotton, 15 per cent acrylic, 8 per cent polyester, 5 per cent wool and 2 per cent polyamide.
