The TMM floor lamp by Santa & Cole, designed in 1961 by Miguel Milá, is one of the most celebrated pieces in the history of Spanish industrial design.
Conceived as the warm and informal alternative within the TM series (Tramo Móvil en Madera), it stands out as a masterclass in formal serenity and functional efficiency. Milá brilliantly separated the structure, the electrical components and the shade, facilitating intuitive assembly and an exceptionally long service life.
Its cross-shaped base supports an articulated wooden shaft that transitions from a square to a circular cross-section, allowing the cardboard shade to be moved freely and secured at the desired height using the tension of an O-ring.
True to the designer’s ingenuity, the light is switched on and off with a gentle tug on the cable.
This piece was designed by Miguel Milá for Santa & Cole.
