After several decades out of production, Carl Hansen & Søn brought Hans J. Wegner's CH22 armchair back into production in 2016. 

At first glance, one may notice the Wegner chair's distinctive large wooden backrest with visible cover caps, but upon closer inspection of the chair, more of Wegner's signature details become apparent. On the sides, for example, you see that the armrest hugs the side frame and seat frame to expand to full width under the armrest for optimal support. At the rear, paper seat ropes descend around the seat frame and through a horizontal slot in the rear bar. At the front of the seat are two refined joints where the front legs go up through the hand-assembled corners.

Although production has naturally been modernized, today the CH22 is still made with the same handcrafted principles as when Wegner followed and participated in making the first examples in Carl Hansen's family workshop in 1950. 

You can find the CH22 in oak, walnut and teak; the oak versions are finished in oiled or soaped oak. 

CH22 is made to order and the estimated delivery time is 6 to 8 weeks.
