The Silk Lantern pendant light by GUBI, originally designed in 1951 by the Danish design duo Ejner Larsen and Aksel Bender Madsen, combines the aesthetic delicacy of Japanese lanterns with the functional rigour of Scandinavian design.

Its central feature is a cylindrical shade made from 100% natural silk that diffuses a warm, soft and enveloping ambient light. The fabric is structured and framed at its ends by subtle rings of FSC®-certified walnut veneer (FSC® C176589), whilst a discreet internal structure of lacquered steel provides strength and a lightweight appearance when suspended.
